The Vietnamese Government has asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to join with relevant ministries and agencies to develop and implement solutions to comply with the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
Exporters have long voiced their concerns over the CBAM''s potential effects on Vietnamese exports, saying CBAM''s implementation will likely increase the prices of exported goods, reducing Vietnamese exports'' competitiveness and affecting demand in the EU market.
Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue has asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) to quickly complete its plan for electricity tariff adjustment. However, the increase should be at the lowest level, he said.
The domestic retail price of petroleum increased by VND646 to touch
VND15,586 ( 69 US cents) per litre on May 5, the Ministry of Industry
and Trade (MOIT) said.
While implementing investment project adjustments, it is essential for
investors to determine the cases where they need to carry out
registration or examination procedures in accordance with the law.
The State Bank of Viet Nam Nguyen Van Binh made clear that he would keep
the forex market stable till the year-end if adjustment is a must, the
margin would be within 2 per cent.
